Vannifer was the mount of knight Finnigahn du Pont. She to this day dutifully waits by the door of her stall every dawn to see if he's come back for her. While formerly a model mount, after she was found injured in the woods those 25 years ago, she is explosive and attacks most people. Finnigahn's old friend Lanselm is the only one she lets be. Her warm coat burns with what Lanselm calls rage, yet nobody quite believes him.
