Duchess was bought a few months after her son, Carl. The two had sadly been sold to seperate barns, despite their attachment to each other. So when Toucan and Theo went to hand show, and found her on the premaces their first idea was to ask the owner about a potential sale. Since she was older, and mostly a pasture pony, they accepted happily for a relatively low offer. You could sense the love as soon as Carl and Duchess met again, happy to be reunited. Despite her having her registered name as Duchess, it didn't stop Theo from changing it to a dinosaur pun (Ma-ma-jungasaurus (Majungasaurus), since they're related to the Carnotaurus) to match Carl.
