Minnie is convinced that size is everything. Until recently, she stood a *very important* two to eight inches taller than the rest of the herd, and applied her height to her (very minimal) advantage - more than anything, it seemed to give her a mental edge over the others as she used her unearned confidence to become the undisputed lead mare. With a recent addition to the herd standing one (1) inch taller than her, her world has been thrown into disarray; onlookers have seen her staring at the new mare with a mixture of confusion and annoyance. Whether she will try to assert her dominance despite her minutely smaller stature remains to be seen.
Under saddle, Minnie is certainly not a novice ride. If paired with an unsuspecting young child, Minnie is liable to choose her own path, as one of the children found out from the middle of a very large patch of burrs. Given clear direction and a firm hand, Minnie is a star and will try her heart out for her rider. Though quirky, Minnie has a lot to teach, and older riders are quick to say they owe their 'horse sense' to this little mare.
