On the cool Autumn morning a Sam, a young teenager, came across the field of golden grass. The view a beauty in itself, his adoration going beyond the love for the season and the view. He was here to see the Teddies.

The reason he came by more often to this field specifically. He loved looking at the equines, more so if he could get them to stay still long enough to draw or photograph them for his school assignments. He gripped is bag and started looking for a good spot to sit, watching the few cobs entertaining themselves by either grazing on the dry grass, groomish each other, running around in what looked like a game of tag or even just catching a nap.

He found a good spot, one to hide himself between the long blades while also allowing him a clear view of the magnificent creatures. He placed down his bag, reaching for the camera first to snap some photo's to use for later artworks if the equines proved they weren;t in the mood for posing and staying still today. He looked through the lens, a snap here and there of those within the herd before his attention landed on a red roan gelding. It stood to the side, more so on it's own rather than participating in the group playing or napping together. He seemed pleased with his peaceful spot, pulling up some grass and chewing at it while gazing around.

Sam found himself stuck on the gelding, taking quite a few shots of him on his own. The warm scenery sculpting a beautiful and colorful work of art he could invision for his final art project of the year. The pops of color and his dashing coat would fit with the warm feeling he was aiming to achieve.

He finally put away the camera, tucking it back into the case and finally the bag and swapping it out for his sketchbook. The large A3 pages sitting in his lap and a pencil in hand as he started with his sketching. Just barely finished with the first before the gelding started trotting off, seemingly stretching his legs. He picked up the camera again, taking a few in motion photos before going back to the book on his legs. Trying to work with the posing despite needing to refocus on where the equine was after a few strokes of his pencil. So in thought that he didn't realize the cob had spotted him. Moving around the boy in a large circle, whinnying at the boy as he had to shift around to look at him. In the process flattening the grass he'd been hidden in without realization and instead just making a small flat circle.

The gelding stopped eventually, approaching the boy with a neigh before picking up a patch of the grass that had been flattened. Munching on it happily while the boy watched him. Eyes filled with excitement and just adoration, the cob laying down on it's side next to the boy with a huff. Continuing his snacking as the boy found himself lost in thought, playing with the teddy's mane. It was oddly soft and the fluffy coat had him captivated. He sketched a bit further, taking his photos to remember the encounter and show them to his friends later on. Sam's smile might as well have been from ear to ear with how happy he was, offering the cob some grass after having put away his sketching things. Petting the cob with one hand and feeding him with the other. Some time had passed and it seemed the herd wanted to move on to a different place for the night. He gave a final pat to the cob before it got up and trotted off, throwing one last look at the boy with a neigh and heading off. Leaving the boy to go home and ramble to his family about the encounter.
