Trying to get a mare!

It wasn't hard to tell that Asa and Un were staring at something from their position in their mother's arms. Shire looked towards Mei for a moment, smiling slightly as her wife idly petted a few horses that had approached from a while away. Shire loved the animals, honestly, and while she knew that her sons were similar to herself, she didn't think that her and Mei's affection for the animals had passed on to both. Despite her awareness of her sons, it took her longer to realize that they were staring at the mare that had just approached her wife. Mei gently petting the wooly horse as it ate a few small treats from her palm.

Mei looked at her family, snorting quietly as Aspidistra shoved for more treats, she quickly went to gather a few. She knew she'd not make a wild horse gain too much weight if she gave her a few extra treats, Mei quietly laughed at the expressions she noticed her children had. She gently nodded to Shire, trying to encourage her wife to bring their sons closer.
"She's safe, she hasn't tried to nip at my hands too roughly or anything, she's been gentle and taking her time." Mei explained, voice soft and echoing the same tone she normally heard Shire speak to the children, despite her own more roughened voice. Asa and Un immediately cowered into their mother's arms as Shire approached the mare. Aspidistra raised her head slowly, still chewing onto he few treats bestowed upon her from Mei. She tossed her head a few times at the children and new person, her lip curling as she took a sniff at them. She'd enjoyed the treats Mei had provided, and if she was lucky, the children would provide more, wouldn't they.

Mei smiled as she shifted, taking one of the babies quickly from Shire, she wasn't sure which child she had right away, glancing down before smiling at In as she snuggled him. Un gently pressed his face against his mom, staring at the mare's face for a moment. Shire walked over, gently bouncing Asa, rubbing her child's back, the little boy releasing a few weak sniffles. Both were intrigued by Aspidistra, but neither were certain if she was safe, the size certainly catching both infants off guard.

"She's a baby, like you, la liame, liame, hm?" Mei whispered, her voice soft still, leaning her head down slightly into her son. I'm stared at the mare before reaching his small hand out, his ears perking as the mare reached her nose back, shoving softly against the child. He squealed, causing his brother to squeal, before Aspidistra tore her head back. The mare stomped her foot, arching her head slightly in confusion at the sound that the children had released. Aspidistra stomped her foot, staring at In and Asa before snorting and shoving her nose against them again, Shire had to hold back the slight laugh that she had.

"Liame, zarine?" Shire made the gentle offer, softly taking Asa's small hand into her own, gently pushing the child's hand against the mare's snout, the mare raised her head for a second before leaning down into the gentle hand. Aspidistra leaned her head back down into the hand, staring with wide eyes at the child, a small snort escaping. Asa tilted his head a bit before he reached his other hand forward, grabbing onto the horse's face before he released a few loud giggles. Aspidistra seemed to recognize that the children were small and needed to be treated gently, Mei laughed quietly.

"I think we might have found the perfect mare for our children, my love." Mei gently breathed out towards Shire, shaking her head gently, she leaned Un out, the child now taking more interest in the horse after his brother had taken a bit of confidence in getting attention from the mare. Un's eyes widened as Aspidistra leaned her head down into the hands, his little fingers reaching for her ears after a moment. The mare snorted, shaking her head at first when grabbed, before she relaxed into the grasp.

"We've found the perfect little pony!" Shire chimed back, holding her baby gently by his chest so that Asa had full opportunity with the mare, gently bouncing him with a soft cooing sound. "We're gonna have fun if we can manage to get her to keep a ribbon in her mane, won't we, liame?" Shire leaned the infant up to her face, gently kissing at his cheek before snuggling him tight. Asa squealed happily, rushing to snuggle into his mother, Aspidistra still leaning her face into Un.

"Should we allow the kids to help us tie it into her mane, Shi?" Mei spoke softly, smiling at the way Shire lit up before the foxling faltered slightly, puffing her cheeks out and shaking her head.

"Okay, I'll tie it on for them, then," Mei cooed, smiling more as she leaned her head over, gently pressing a kiss to Shire's head and returning their child to her hands. She gently pulled a little silver bell from her pocket, holding it up and gently ringing it a few times, Aspidistra seemed less than interested, more interested in the giggling happy children bundled back up to their mother. Shire smiled, reaching to pet the mare herself as the children continued to laugh at how Mei rang the bell in front of them. "Are you two ready? We're gonna do our very best to bring this pretty lady home, she seems to like my two liames so much too!" Mei cooed, leaning to press a kiss to Shire's forehead and then the two infant boys. Finally, she turned towards Aspidistra, reaching her fingers into her mane and gently tying the ribbon in, listening to it's silver bell release chimes similar to what her wife did when she entered a room.

"I hope to see you again, be it fate or not." Mei cooed quietly, before gently urging her family away. They'd return in the spring, when the horses returned, for now? They'd go home and prepare, the infants would be happy either way.
