Azurite attempt I

Violet was looking out the rear window watching the rain race sideways, her parents were taking her to a new yard that was selling some horses, this was the sixth one they'd taken her, non had caught her eye before and she'd given up hope..

"Cheer up Vi, I have a good feeling about this one" Violet's dad said, he was determined to find the perfect one for her, Violet sighs with her reply, "what if it's just another waste of time?.." "try to keep positive thoughts, I'm sure this one is the lucky one" he said with a smile, he's always been happy, always smiling, always making others laugh, that's just the person he is, he knew Violet was looking hope but that didn't dampen his spirit. 

They soon got to a track lined with Blossom trees and cobble walls, it was strangely welcoming, a mix of beautiful and rustic. As we drove along I noticed a black mare racing against the wall, it's like she was racing the car, as Violet's eyes met the blue eyes of the mare, something clicked, a feeling Violet didn't get at the other stables, the mare soon disappeared as they got to the end of the paddock where the buildings were.

As they approached the main building and elderly lady came out, she was slightly hunched over with a walking stick in her left hand, she had a soft smile across her face, as the car stopped, Violet and her dad stepped out, soon followed by a soft voice "welcoming Violet, I hope the journey was easy going" Violet smiled as she responded "it was pleasant, thank you" Violet's dad then stood forward to continue the conversation with the elderly lady, as Violet looked around, the same mare from before caught her eye.

Violet walked over to see the mare up close, her coat was an ash black, with her belly and legs painted with white leading up her neck and down her jaw, her eyes were as blue as sapphires, kind and full of life, letting out a small winnie as Violet got closer, her ears facing forward, as Violet reached out her hand the mare leaned her nose towards her, gently stroking her nose, Violet hears a voice from behind, "i see you've met Azurite" the elderly lady walked over with Violet's dad, "she's gorgeous" Violet replies, her dad smiles more letting out a small chuckle "well how would you like to give her a test ride?" Violet's eyes lit up as she looks at him shocked, "are you serious?" Her dad nods, grinning ear to ear.

Violet immediately went to go get her stuff as the elderly lady brought Azurite in from the paddock, Violet soon returned with her riding hat on, offering to help the elderly lady in which she agrees, Violet brushes Azurite with ease, even picking up her feet, putting on a matching saddle pad and boots, with a brown saddle and hackamore, "Azurite isn't usually this easy to tack up" the elderly lady said surprised, Violet smiled "maybe she's having a good day" she replied with a soft giggle, the elderly lady smiled softly "maybe she is, I'll lead you to the arena so you can see how she rides"

Violet follows with Azurite close behind the elderly lady, leading her to a large covered arena with white fences, Violet leads Azurite to the mounting block and starts walking around, Azurite was a smooth walker, not tripping like the others she had visited, after a few laps of walking Violet taps her leg as they move to a trot, Azurite had a small trip into the trot but soon got her rhythm, happily trotting around the arena, she was so easy to move with, after feeling comfortable Violet asks for a canter, with Azurite giving a small buck she flew into a canter where she felt just like a rocking horse with how smooth she is, Violet was loving everything about Azurite and her dad could see it, so while Violet was going around he made thr purchase with the elderly lady.

After finishing Violet walks over to her dad and the elderly lady with a wide smile on her face, pattern Azurite's neck, "so how was it" Violet's dad asks "she's amazing! She's just what I've been looking for!" Violet said still smiling, her dad chuckles "well that's good because she's yours" Violet gasps "she's really mine?!" Her dad nodded in response as Violet hugs Azurite's neck, she was so excited she couldn't wait to get Azurite to her new home with her other horses.
