New Family Members

As the rumbling sound of a car and trailer coming closer reached Estrid's ears, she sprung up and almost tripped over her slippers. Regaining balance, the young girl hurried to the kitchen window and pressed against the glass, excitedly trying to catch a glimpse of the approaching car. She was finally getting her very own pony, a Teddy Cob to be precise, but she still had no idea what the pony looked like. Thinking she couldn't miss this moment, still in her pyjamas, Estrid hurried outside.

When she reached the stable, her cousin Svea was already unloading from the horse transport and asked Estrid to keep her distance until she had finished. The young girl took a step back, not feeling the cold February air as the excitement filled her body with warmth. Suddenly she realised something; Svea wasn't leading just one pony out of the trailer, there were two!

Svea held one hand behind her back, as if trying to hide the pony she held the lead rope to, which of course didn't work. On her right side, she held a fluffy Bay Splash mare and on her left side a smaller Black gelding with a pink lip. Estrid, who was in complete awe, carefully approached the new family members and her cousin let her pet them and say hello.

"This is Willow," she said nodding to the mare, "and the other one is Cobalt!"

"Oh, Svea, I love them!"
