Fox in a field !!
Sneaky sneaky fox, or so that's what the townspeople called her. The teddy mare, being as sly as always- had ventured outside of her pasture.
She would gently trot along the golden-green grass, taking in the sights of the evening skies. It was often she found herself doing this, sneaking out each spring to see what the world had to offer her.
Fox although kunning and secretive as the name suggests, was also quite the gentle-soul. Each of her adventures she would find something new and exciting before eventually being rounded up by either her handler or a friendly neighbor.
The mare had no motive today, just an intention to sightsee. Putting distance between herself and her confiment area, Fox could finally freely explore without issue.
The curious mare slowly walked up to thicket of bushes, huffing in all of the dust and pollen she let out a sneeze! She would wiggle her nose, not disappointed yet rather intrigued. Her eyes scanned the bush, searching for something more, when she finally laid her sights upon a little insect, yes, and insect! A tiny colorful caterpillar. She would tilt her ears forward, staring at the small critter as it scrunched and scurried along the leaves.
Her attention was quickly drawn elsewhere, her ears standing tall and moving about like a nifty satellite dish! She could hear running water? A river perhaps! The mare with haste trotted over to the source of the sound. It wasn't a river, nor a creek, rather a well. The trickles had been from the well water, something she didn't quite understand but wished to. Without care for her own safety, she leaned her head in, staring into the bottom of the well with her cafe colored eyes. It was dark, and to her it smelled musky, damp. Her nose scrunched, recoiling at the hint of metallic that set in after her initial inhale.
Fox deemed the well no longer worthy of her time, not fancying the metallic stench the well plagued her with. Dramatically, she went off to find the next best thing. Yet with the sky getting darker, the sun setting more with each passing minute, she decided to watch. Fascinated by the fluffy clouds, the soft glows, and the changing colors. It was nice, and for a moment it brought her a sense of clarity. Perhaps every evening from now on she would watch the sun set, and think back on her tiny adventures.
First time adding literature to an entry !! Please be mindful and forgiving :D
