Leia brushed off her jeans, which had picked up some burrs on their trek through the hills. She was the only one of her friends who hadn't already picked a pony. She had a hard time judging horses based on pictures; she wanted to see the cobs in person before getting her heart set on one. She sat at the edge of the herd, wanting to observe the Teddies for a while before interacting with them. Her plan was foiled though, as her eye was immediately caught by a stunning greying gelding. He had dark chestnut points on his legs and face, but a lovely grey mask around his eyes and muzzle. His long mane was a gradual ombre, and he carried himself with a distinct grace. Almost without realizing it, Leia stood and approached him, reaching into her pocket to pull out her green bell ribbon. His petite ears swiveled towards her as she approached, but he continued grazing, pulling mouthfuls of the lush green Hungarian grass. Leia talked to him softly as she approached, and he raised his head as she got within arms reach. Hi gave a soft pony wuffle, and gently nosed her outstretched hand. She giggled as his long whiskers tickled her hand, his white muzzle slightly grass stained. She moved her way towards his shoulder, and he stood quietly as she began to weave the bell ribbon into his mane. As she braided, he went back to grazing, which made Leia giggle as he almost yanked the braid out of her hand. She crouched down next to his dark head, carefully finishing off the braid with a sturdy knot. She regarded the gelding, peacefully grazing, soft mane flowing in the gentle breeze. She smiled, and sat in the grass next to him. As she sat, he regarded her with his deep brown eyes. With a soft grunt, he heaved himself down next to her, which caused her to giggle in delight. He rested his chin in her lap, and she scratched behind his ears. Girl and horse shared a sigh, relaxing in the warm sun. The bell in his mane lightly jingled as his mane danced in the breeze, combining with the sounds of chirping birds to form a soft lullaby.
