MARV MARV MARV
The Teddy Cobs milled about as the sun rose, quietly grazing. As the sun crested the trees, the hillside became awash with golden sunlight, giving each and every pony an ethereal glow. It was at this moment that Lorelei Palmer arrived at the hillside, and she let out a soft gasp and she saw the ponies for the first time. It had always been a dream of hers to claim a Teddy Cob, a rare breed known for their extremely kind and gentle nature. They were also known to be highly affectionate, which Lorelei saw firsthand. Two grey Teddies were grooming each other, a group of three were enjoying a mud bath, and a few more were napping together, noses touching as they rested. Lorelei scanned the herd, trying to find the pony she had fallen in love with. The Teddy Cob registry had posted all of the claimable cobs the week before, and a wooly gelding had caught her eye. His name was Marvin, and something about the way he was holding himself in the picture, the expression in his eyes, had her spellbound. She knew they would get along very well, if only she could successfully secure her bell into his mane. Just as she began to worry he wasn't there, the unmistakable thundering of hooves sounded from behind her. Turning, she saw him, cresting the hill, mane flying. Marvin. Another Teddy ran alongside Marvin, a cute little palomino. The two horses slowed as they approached Lorelei, and Marvin came right up to her, snuffling her hands like they were lifelong friends. The pictures did not do his adorableness justice. He was incredibly fluffy, and had poofy little bangs that completely obscured his blue eyes.
“Well hello there!” Lorelei laughed as the pony begged for scratches. He leaned into her touch as she ran her fingers through his long coat. He was SO cute, she could hardly stand it. She fished the bell out of her pocket, praying he wouldn’t spook at the jingling noise it made. As she showed it to him, he simply nudged her hand, as if to say, Put that thing down and keep petting me! Lorelei got to work quickly braiding the bell into his fluffy mane, securing it with a few elastics. She really hoped that would stay in. As soon as she finished, Marvin continued to beg for pets, and she obliged. Maybe she would stay here with him for a while…
